Jeremy Lent — integrator and author of ‘The Patterning Instinct: A Cultural History of Humanity’s Search for Meaning’ — discusses the work of popular science author Steven Pinker and his defense of the “progress narrative” implicit in the neoliberal economic paradigm that dominates political and economic policy of the modern era.
