The 'Selfish Gene' theory, proposed by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, is beginning to face heavy rebuke and criticism within the realms of science, and as a cultural meme, the theory is also being questioned and rejected by philosophers, intellectuals, and economists as a viable framework in which to understand not only evolution and genetics, but also as a way of understanding the natural world and humanity's place within it.
Jeremy Lent, author of "The Patterning Instinct," goes over his criticisms of the 'selfish gene' theory elaborated in his controversial article "The Dangerous Delusions of Richard Dawkins."
